Yeah, I’m not trying to say others shouldn’t like it. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. An occasional trick play would be fun but the dancing and some of the other stuff just got to be too much.

I could definitely see how kids might find it entertaining.

It’s fun, kids dig it, and overall it probably brings more young ppl who previously didn’t give a [expletive] about baseball to the sport. As I age I’m getting more into the vibe of “let people enjoy what they like even if it’s not for me.” No different than like my kids loving Sabrina Carpenter or whatever.

I find their clips and memes entertaining enough, I know people who love their shtick, but I don't think I could sit through two hours of it.

Why are they dancing? And if the team in the field dances, is the team at bat required to dance as well?

For what it's worth, I'm with @cardinalkarp on this. It's for some people; I'm just not one of those people.

Any competitive sport game is inherently not very creative because it requires strict rules. They might actually open up the door for more zany things in sports over time if leagues choose to relax certain rules.

I am open to rule changes, even radical ones, to improve the sport from an interest perspective. But I don’t want things to be more zany.

For example, I think the NBA would be better served to be a best of 7 match format of games to 21 points. It takes the only interesting part of the current game (the 4th quarter) and replicates it up to 7 times per night.

What I wouldn’t want to see in a competitive sport is Harlem Globetrotters style antics. May be entertaining as a show, but not interesting as a sport.

The Savannah Bananas are ready to take over Busch Stadium in St. Louis as part of their Banana Ball World Tour!

The team will play two games at the home of the Cardinals on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. The games were originally going to be played on April 4 and 5 before being rained out.

On Friday and Saturday, the pre-game plaza will open at 2 p.m. and fans can see some of the players ahead of their game.

"Before the Peel," a kickoff event hosted by the team's broadcasters and cast members, will begin at 3 p.m. The show features special appearances from players, cast, mascots and other surprise guests.

All tickets sold through the team's website are sold out.

On SeatGeek, the cheapest ticket available for general admission is $80. For a single ticket seat, it will cost you a minimum of $113.

Some city attractions are getting in on the Bananas Fever with special events

St. Louis Wheel
The St. Louis Wheel at Union Station will be lit in yellow on Friday and Saturday for the games. Wheel riders will get a free banana plushie while supplies last.

The Soda Fountain
The Soda Fountain at Union Station will serve a new limited-time Freak Shake called, "Will Play for Bananas." It is a banana-flavored shake with a banana rim, a Banana Ball-themed sugar cookie, banana Laffy Taffy rope, and baseball gumballs with whipped cream and a cherry.

St. Louis Aquarium
Fans who visit the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station wearing yellow on Friday or Saturday will get a free aquarium t-shirt ith their paid admission, while supplies last.
The aquarium is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.

City Museum
Fans can head to the City Museum with their Savannah Bananas ticket to get $5 off admission. They can also enjoy exclusive Banana merchandise and banana sweet treats throughout the museum.

4 Hands Brewing Company and Hi-Pointe Drive-In
The partners are offering a Banana Peanut Butter Burger and a drink. Stop by the 4 Hands Brewery & Tasting Room on Friday or Saturday for Banana Light Lager along with a Banana Pineapple Slush, which could be made boozy, Bananas Foster Manhattans and a Hi-Pointe burger special. The special is a double cheddar burger with candied bacon and peanut butter banana spread on a toasted pretzel bun.

I don’t have any concerns about Bananas-type shenanigans infiltrating MLB. The Globetrotters didn’t change the NBA but seeing them live as a kid increased my interest in basketball and gave me an appreciation for athletic talent. I think of this as being a fun family event that could have the same impact on today’s little ones.
