Noticed that Ivan ditched the arm protection for the last two PAs. Wonder what that was about.
So Eddings was mad about Rincon’s hat apparently? And that results in a penalty against Bruihl? Jesus.

That’s ridiculous. Kid came unglued after that.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑September 4 26, 10:33 pmghostrunner wrote: ↑September 4 26, 10:09 pmNoticed that Ivan ditched the arm protection for the last two PAs. Wonder what that was about.

And we got a pitch clock violation afterwards?
And the call at home plate was ruled against us?

We couldn't challenge because we had lost the challenge at third. Which was before any of that happened; and the umpire Eddings was really exuberant when saying the call on the field was confirmed. He had some kind of axe to grind. Even the Rockies broadcast was like that call was terrible but there is nothing the Cardinals can do about it.dmarx114 wrote: ↑September 5 26, 5:20 amThat’s ridiculous. Baseball gods sorted it out at the end but MLB needs to review that.

Hope the umpire is fined or demoted. Major league debut and have the night, the experience ruined by a joke of an umpire. I feel bad for the kid.

Eddings is an idiot for trying his "fashion police" crap. I'm not a fan of players that wear their caps like that, but that's my feeling in the situation, and have no say in how the players can wear their caps and uniforms. Eddings is a huge jerk for that behavior and I hope MLB fines and suspends him and tell the umpire union to straighten out how their umps can behave. Eddings trying to follow up in the stupid actions of Joe Worst and Angel Hernandez? Maybe Eddings had some $ on the Rockies to win??

Ump admits it’s not a rule (like we all know)…
Unwritten rule? Sure…but there’s nothing in the rule book about it
Also there’s no rule either about wearing your hat backwards so he’s wrong there also"I really didn't know, but it was really, really crooked," Eddings said. "I asked the [Cardinals] catcher to tell him to straighten his hat out, and the pitcher did. Nobody said anything until he gave up a couple runs."
Eddings characterized the situation as an "unwritten rule."
"It's not [a rule]," Eddings said. "I guess it's a little unwritten rule. They can't wear [their cap] backwards like a catcher. If it's a distraction, like anything on the field, like a glove or something, and someone makes you aware of it, then you kind of address that."

Sabathia would regularly skew his cap. In fact there is an abundance of examples over the last 30 years of players, particularly pitchers, doing this.
Jomboy where you at with the synopsis?

From what I could see it was barely noticeable. Not even close to how Sabathia wore his.
