If you haven't noticed I believe the USMNT has crossed into new territory. The Mexican National team didn't play that great, no, but they had a striker who was making plays and the US shut him down. I believe previously this never would have happened. The US clearly capitalized on their chances(except the Dempsey PK which was meaningless at the end).

It's also fantastic having a place such as Columbus to play because the US has such a huge advantage. It has actually turned into an exciting European atmosphere with the singing, standing all game, chanting, the crowd always being active. Yet, there is still something distinctly American about the atmosphere.

It's weird that you think a result last night never would have happened in the past when the last 4 qualifiers we've played them in Columbus have been the exact same result.

Yes, it was in reference to the striker, Gimenez (and some play by Reyes) that was incredibly skilled and was shut down by Tim Howard and the US defense. Also the move by Diskerud on the Donovan goal. My oh my!!!!! Was anyone expecting that?

Ozil to Arsenal. Is there a chance he makes a big difference? Still rather new to this and it's the first substantial signing since I started watching a year ago.

Just how much is up for debate but he will have a big impact. He's the best German ball handler since Eva Braun's chin.

Mexico hasn't scored against us in three straight games with largely the same lineup. You can believe that "previously that never would've happened" but that would be ignoring that its happened quite a lot.

Yeah. He's the best player in the league right now. Not by a wide margin, but still, something to really build on.
