What you find to be sufficient has long been stale for a lot of other people.

Fans in Az would give a lot to have 3 strait 90+ win seasons and playoff aspirations every year.

But the St. Louis Cardinals are not the Az D-backs - and the fan base deserves more. I hope this sale really helps to re-stock the organizations pitching, because that is where the Cards are hurting the most.

In addition to being fun, I think it's probably healthy for the club to shake the roster up in this way once in a while. Being consistently good has led to some inertia with respect to certain players and positions. Trusting and sticking to "the plan" a little too much perhaps. And maybe this helps them avoid that in the future.
