Pujols with a good AB...smokes it on a line into LF but didn't get any air under it.

Too bad.

He was cheating. Got caught, and nothing's going to happen to him. That's what I'm pissed about. If the camera hadn't caught him in the first, no way he wipes it off.

Starting to get some good rips on him. AP couldn't have hit that ball any harder.

Starting to just look like their night.

Prove it. You can't. How do you explain the rest of the game where Rogers has pitched as well as before he washed the "pine tar" off? You can't.

I was more upset with Casey channeling Vina and leaning into that pitch earlier than I was about Rogers.

Cards have only advanced one runner as far as second base...and that was in the first inning.

This team's approach against lefties is just atrocious.
I've read that McRae is on the way out, and I would bet that's why.
I'm not going to be upset if he gets canned, but in all fairness I don't think he's advocating the approaches that Encarnacion, Wilson, and Belliard have had against lefties (and, in general) this postseason and regular season.
Perhaps I should've said that's the excuse why he'll be fired. Hitting coaches, as far as I can tell, are hired to be fired. It's hard to blame McRae for this mess, but then again, it's supposed to be his job to get through to them.

Juan Encarnacion's entire deal at the plate needs to be blown-up.

I'm mostly bothered by how monumentally stupid you would have to be to put it on your pitching hand, especially during the world series. Use your glove or something for crying out loud.

That's another reason I don't believe it was pine tar. You don't "hide" something like that in plain sight.

Did he cheat? Definitely. Did it matter? Definitely not. Why did he bother? I have no idea.

That was pretty clearly pine tar on his hand, and we all know why a left-handed control/movement pitcher would use pine tar for in cold weather.

But, I'm not upset about it. I don't think it affected the game one bit. So, there's no real reason to be upset about it. Obviously it would have been nice to catch him in the act and get him thrown out of the game, but that didn't happen. We didn't catch it in time. And the rest is history.

You don't hide from assault when you beat up a cameraman either. We aren't talking about the slickest criminal mind.
