You hit on it, man. I mentioned it upthread, but the long-term effects are what we need to start shifting the focus to now that there are a significant sample size of patients to study. That's not to say we shouldn't keep working on a vaccine/treatments, but the medical researchers can and should be getting to work on this. They just couldn't in the beginning, because they needed to base their work on a diverse and complete data set. That's got to exist by now.IMADreamer wrote: ↑September 21 20, 11:37 amThe last effects of this are scary. My cousin had it about a month ago. She was sick for about four days, like really sick, then she snapped out of it pretty quickly. She was good a few days then all the sudden her heart started racing and she was really light headed. She went to ER and got her settled down. Well flash forward to now, tomorrow she will be getting a pacemaker. She's 38, a runner, in great health prior to coronavirus. Her cardiologist says she is the third younger person he has seen with heart issues after having the virus. All of them were healthy prior. That's obviously anecdotal but it seems like something.
And their work is going to help guide the medical community's post-case treatment and monitoring going forward.
