Chicago Fire announce St. Louis FC will be their USL Pro affiliate.

With this news, Garber in town talking expansion, the Rams stadium debate that includes an MLS option, and some momentum from the summer friendlies, I finally gave in to the hype and picked up some STLFC season tickets for this summer. Still don't believe St. Louis will get a franchise any time soon, but it won't be for lack of trying.

It was either St. Louis or Portland 5 years ago. But now St. Louis doesn't have either the crazy lower level support (that I know of) or the NFL support (likely) that Garber seems to be favoring.

Luke, Columbus seems to be an organization on the up. Berhalter is an ambitious young coach and they have done a good job developing young players. That's a great place to land.

1. All four unsigned draft picks look targeted to the roster – for now.
With the news that the Crew waived former first-round SuperDraft pick Ben Sweat yesterday, the team now has 25 players under contract on the active roster. A 26th player, Cedrick Mabwati, has already signed and will join this summer.

That means there are spots for Sergio Campbell, Sagi Lev-Ari, Kalen Ryden and Tomas Gomez despite the fact that Berhalter said they are clearly behind the rest of the group.



Looks like he's going to make the roster to start the season.
