Jericho is pretty protective of other wrestlers. I also think Jericho was at least somewhat right. From what I can tell, the "knockout" was planned, but the blood/gashes weren't. When you couple that with Lesnar hitting Orton in a way that isn't even legal in UFC, it makes him tough to defend. At best, Brock is a big, powerful man who doesn't have the technical skill to land a move without hurting someone. At worst, he's malicious.
