Post is relevant as useful coronavirus chatter with regard to sourcing of disinformation (in this case the herd immunity. )
People are behaving like " I am low risk/might as well get it/herd immunity Trump sez. " Important to note that when info on handling this pandemic is sourced to GOP it is probably wrong or serves a different purpose than handling the pandemic.
It is relevant to share when commonly heard pandemic info is based more on Trump GOPism than most currently available scientific info.

political but relevant. because info and combattiing disinformation and bad policy (unfortunately promoted by GOP)
is necessary.
Behold [expletive] governor of MO
So the system still works? Wrong. the message, disinformation, and difficulities in local leaders setting rules on their own when govt is AWOL is maddening. Imagine being on a school board abd having to deal with this. sure, your family may pay no attention to Trump advice on Covid. but when the governor says it. it becomes a weekly event as a parent explaining why we ignore the state governor too?! My wife who is tired/works nights looks at me sometimes like I am making this [expletive] up.and franly I don't blame her. exhausting.
some jackass can sue to make the invisible state standards apply locally. . [expletive] .

Teachers are pissed. I am pissed. worst timing. I guess the consolation is you can yank your kid out of school and my county is ignoring this moron's policy."Students and teachers will no longer need to quarantine for 14 days after being exposed to COVID-19 if all parties were wearing a mask, Missouri officials said Thursday.
"If a district or charter school has a mask mandate in place and all individuals are wearing masks correctly, as long as they do not begin to show symptoms, those close contacts may continue to attend school in person," Gov. Mike Parson said at a news conference."

Frankly, there's a lot of disinformation in this post.Freed Roger wrote: ↑November 12 20, 2:18 pmI OBJECT yer honor!heyzeus wrote: ↑November 12 20, 1:50 pmHey you two, there's a Coronavirus Politics thread. There is no consensus on rather or not herd immunity will result via natural infections. Comments like People are behaving like " I am low risk/might as well get it/herd immunity Trump sez. "" provide little if any intellectual value.
I'm not sure what scientific info you're referring to as none was offered.
We can agree the US has done a poor job. And, at the moment, there isn't even a clear strategy. To suggest trump has one may be over estimating his efforts. Other than what's offered by the CDC of wearing masks, washing hands, and distancing, there's little go on. The White House guidelines that have been ignored by almost every state if not every state are still posted if unmodified since like April and trump urges states to ignore them anyway every chance he gets.
That said, to suggest people are out playing basketball or whatever because trump sez has less proof behind it than herd immunity being acheivable at this point. People aren't stupid. And, people will make their own decisions based on their individual risk tolerances.
