It has been so, so fun. With the teams left in, it's also a victory for sensible roster building and scouting over $. Seattle didn't implode like the Galaxy did, they just got old, tired and hurt, but all 4 teams left play great, attacking, high-pressing soccer and spend their money smart.

Somebody on twitter put it perfectly. MLS is good enough that incredible things happen and bad enough that ridiculous things happen. Either way, it's fun as hell.

They got punked by a Brazil team playing with 10. I don't even know how to explain it at this point. Klinsmann's ineffectual style of coaching has somehow trickled down to every level of the national team even though it's hard to see how that's even possible.

As big as soccer is becoming in this country, at some point US ability to compete at international level has to turn the corner.

Define compete. They've been competitive since 2002. They've been scrappy since 1990. It's not a talent issue. It's a talent development issue.
