One of them was a weak tapper back to the mound on a ball above the strike zone, the other was a rope to LF that was caught...it was hit HR hard, but just didn't get under it at all.Kyle wrote:I got home from work and started watching the tape. I went upstairs and the <franking> upstairs TV was on and I hear, "to this point Rogers has shut Pujols down, holding him 0-2 to this point."
So I had the first six innings spoiled for me which made me really mad.

Is it actually in the rulebook that you aren't allowed to steal signs? If it is, yes, they should get in trouble, because it's straight up cheating. I don't want the Cardinals to win that way, or even have a hint of it like Rogers did.Kyle wrote:If the Cards were caught stealing signs, would you say the same thing?GatewaySnayke wrote:There's still the principle of the matter.
Sammy Sosa grounded out when he had his corked bat, did that make it okay that he used it though? I'm more upset that they are taking atrocious at-bats, but Rogers is a cheater, and deserves to be treated like such after this game. This isn't a game in August, this is the World Series.
Edit: did you also demand that Julian Tavarez have his hat checked every time he came out to pitch with the Cards?
Did I want Tavarez checked before every game? Can't say that I did. I also wasn't aware of Tavarez using pine tar before the incident with his hat being thrown in the crowd.
I don't know why it matters about what we fans do, but I doubt the Cardinals allow themselves to get distracted. The more we (and by we I include the team and coaches) focus on that after the game, the less we'll be focusing on what really matters...the reasons why we're losing this game, and what we should be doing to prepare ourselves for the next game.

i think i read somewhere that the only rule against stealins signs is that you obviously can't have any kind of video or audio feed in the dugout. But for example, if the first base coach was stealing signs, then yeah, i'm pretty sure it's legal

Because the media panders to the fans, and the media is going to make a big deal about this...which means that they're going to be pestering a lot of players about it...especially Cardinals players.GatewaySnayke wrote:I don't know why it matters about what we fans do, but I doubt the Cardinals allow themselves to get distracted. The more we (and by we I include the team and coaches) focus on that after the game, the less we'll be focusing on what really matters...the reasons why we're losing this game, and what we should be doing to prepare ourselves for the next game.
How much do you want to bet that AP fields a question or two about it after the game?
That makes it a distraction...no matter how much they want to pretend it's not.
