You haven't missed too much this year. It's like an order-has-been-restored-and-things-are-kind-of-boring-right-now arc of episodes on an epic TV show. City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, United, Chelsea are at the top. Leicester City has failed to impress and has sunk back to mid-table. The good teams are good (though Chelsea and United are having some hiccups), the ok teams are ok, the bad teams are bad.

Saw the USWNT team play a friendly today at the new Vikings stadium. Fun experience. A newbie (Ohai) got a goal less than a minute after subbing in for her WNT debut. 5-1 win.

I caught USMNT at Busch last year slaughtering St. Vincent in a WC qualifier, and it's the best sports atmosphere I've ever experienced. I'm sort of regretting not going to see Argentina in Chicago this past summer.

Good to see Mourinho failing again at United despite spending a stupid amount of money.

They are stuck with him now though, trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

Rashford is a natural striker playing on the wing to accommodate Zlatan, Carrick doesn't get a game for the overrated Pogba. Rooney has to be put in there to unsettle the balance of the team at the cost of others, although he has apparently told Rooney he can leave in January.

It's not Jose's fault though, oh no.....

Julian Green got a start for Bayern and scored. Pretty cool, even though I'm pretty sure you could stick Betty White in their lineup, and she'd have a good chance at scoring.

Yeah, relatively un-marked header in the box, but he's finishing the chances he gets, starting in this preseason, and that's all you can ask.

MLS playoffs started last night and if you're a casual soccer fan who's open to watching an MLS game, MLS playoffs are lit. Always. The East has a very compelling three team fight between Toronto (Bradley/Altidore/Giovinco are beasting this second half), NYC FC (score a ton of goals, give up a ton of goals, tons of old stars like David Villa, Frank Lampard and Andrea Pirlo) and NYRB (most complete team in the league). The West is much more wide open. Should be fun.

So, the USMNT lost 4-0 in Costa Rica. Unable to watch most games, but the write-ups are not kind.
