So how does it work that the Cards get the compensatory draft pick?

That would be incredible. To bad its just one analysts’ idea.

I disagree that Franklin did his job. After a bit of adversity he was terrible.

Richie,

First of all, of course Holliday screwed up. I haven't seen anyone deny that.

Would you feel the same way if Holliday had made that error in the 5th inning?

Adam Dunn, who has been worth 10 WAR over the last 5 seasons? No thanks.

I don't believe the speculation is that the Cards would take Dunn over Holliday, but that they may go after him if/when Holliday prices himself out of feasibility.

For the record, I'm not crazy about it, either, more for defensive reasons.

If we had a gaping hole at 1b I'd be interested, fortunately for us, that is not the case.

I'll be disappointed if they don't get Holliday. Failure to do that or go that direction puts us back in 2008 mode. Good, but not great. MV3 might be too much to ask for but I at least want MV2.

Jason Bay would be a nice consolation prize though.

Bay's defense isn't much better than Dunn's.

If not Holliday, then I say we go with Cameron or DeRosa or some in-house candidate such as Craig or Hamilton.

Franklin did his job. Holliday did not do his job.
