This isn't a Rule 5 situation, right? We can stash him in the minors?

He has to go on the 40 man but he can be assigned to whichever level the Cardinals choose.

Anybody playing MLB the Show can go get themselves a 99 Dustin May as a Brewer.

Can't find a Noot trade thread, but:

BA ranked him 19th in Arizona's system.

Curley is a fun one. He's a hell of a competitor. Little guy on the mound but super athletic. Quick arm, really brings it with the fastball.

The athleticism lets everything play up in a guy who is all gas and no brakes. I really liked him in that draft last year and he fits what the Cardinals like with that fastball, athleticism, and ability to spin it.

His curveball is a bit better than what BA says in my eyes, and he uses it as a first pitch strike stealer. He's a high effort start who doesn't probably have enough to consistently get through a lineup a third time. Lots of Leahy to him, and I think he could pitch in the Cardinals' bullpen next if they wanted.

I don't know how many VAA 60+ fastball guys the Cardinals want, but they'll well on their way to having all of them. This is a legit prospect and not a "throw-in" at all.

From Kiley McDaniel at ESPN:
Brian Curley (No. 92 overall). He may be the first to make the majors in this entire draft class if he's pushed as a reliever, despite some success as a starter later in the season. His four-seamer and slider are both plus pitches while his attitude and amount of SportsCenter-level reaction on the mound were behind only Liam Doyle this season. The kid is just electric.

Right-hander Daniel Eagen (AA) and left-hander Sando Santana (AA) and now right-hander Brian Curley

Three pretty intriguing arms for Noot. Can't complain about that trade.

And all three could be in the majors next year if the Cardinals want them to. Curley doesn't have to be 40-manned for a few years, so they probably hold him back at least a year but he's legit.
