I don't see why Lohse can't be thrown in there and Westbrook hasn't done anything to freak me out. I'm just not going to sell the farm for a SP when we haven't even proven we can win with good SP and when we do win we can't make up any ground on Cincinatti.

It's laughable that you guys think you can possible get Felix Hernandez for Allen Craig. There is.a laundry list of reasons why this is crazy. Heck, I'm not sure if Craig nets you James Shields much less Felix Hernandez. My guess Seattle would ask for Craig AND at least two of the Cards big four prospects plus a couple of low level prospects for Felix. Allen Craig for Felix Hernandez gets you laugh at before the Seattle GM slams the phone.

I don't see anyone seriously thinking this.

No doubt it would take Craig plus a high prospect to land Felix. Not gonna happen. Craig will be our 1B in 2013 and much of 2012.

I'd give up a boatload to get King Felix. I'd give up Craig and Shelby tomorrow if that would get it done.

I think the larger point is that getting an upgrade in the rotation to protect against Kelly's eventual regression won't make the team perform necessarily better than it is right now. Even if a Felix Hernandez comes in to match Kelly's sparkling ERA with the peripherals to boot, it doesn't matter much when the offense is doing it Jekkyl and Hyde routine. So giving up a cost controlled player who is likely our 2013 starting 1B for that kind of upgrade probably isn't the best idea.

IMO, trading Craig would be this decade's trading Dan Haren.
