By the way, I love this analogy. It fits our manager perfectly. Well done!

This is what really causes me to scratch my head, the inconsistent patterns. Walking a guy down 8 in the 8th seems to indicate a manager "playing it out" as Jay said on the broadcast, yet 2 innings earlier making substitutions that sure seemed like the game had been given up on.

LaRussa is the type of guy that would take an umbrella with him when the weatherman called for sunshine, but yet an unexpected t-storm popped up he would leave it buckled up and unused in his car.
Outside of Molina's HR in Toronto Freese and Molina's contributions this month might not even equal LaRue's and Miles. Maybe it was sending a message to those starters as well, or getting them a breather.

But Randy Winn, who got a start because he was four for 12 (.333) against Brewers lefthander Manny Parra,
Damn the notecards all to hell.

Having Raz in the lineup doesn't change much when your starter gives up 7 earned in 3 innings.

Last time it was clear Franklin didn't have it, TLR didn't hestitate to bring in Motte. I don't know why he reacted differently in this situation.

La Russa managed to get the pitcher's spot into the five hole, used three right fielders and had Reyes bat for himself in a game the Cardinals were winning by seven runs.

Because he used Motte in the 7th or 8th because he had to switch McClellan out of the game for Winn or something stupid. I don't even remember how the hell it happened, just remember thinking WTF is Winn in this game in the 7th or whenever it was.

My goof, was half-following on gameday until they picked it up on MLB Network in the 9th. I still would have gotten someone else up after the Fowler double.

I know this thread is for a specific purpose, but if there's ever a loss you can't blame on the manager, it's a loss when you were leading 9-3 in the bottom of the 9th.
