2 of 3 is great after that awful Kings game. You gotta play Hutton for a while.

What has gotten in to Bergie? That is a nice couple of wins on back to back nights against teams that typically give the Blues fits. I'm glad to see them sitting Allen for now. He'll get his chance again, but he was absolutely giving the team no chance at all to win.

Agreed, he needed a break anyway and it was pretty clear his confidence was shot. While I don't want to see the Blues go back to the 2 goalie system, Allen was playing far too much for a goalie that wasn't playing at the top of his game. On top of that, while the Blues want him to be the #1 guy, he hasn't been used to the day in day out grind of being a #1 goaltender since he's been a goalie here. They've always had the fallback or in some cases when Allen was hurt that 1A guy in Elliott. Let Hutton see some playing time as long as he and the team are chalking up W's.albertmvpujols wrote:What has gotten in to Bergie? But, I've watched enough of the Blues, Wild, and Hawks this season to see there's a noticeable difference in the quality of team the Wild and Hawks have in comparison to the Blues (at least in our division). Those two teams at this point are just flat out better. The Blues have a lot of guys underperforming, but you can tell they are missing size guys like the Backes' and Browers' that can plant themselves in front of net and cause havoc. The Blues are went to an undersized team that was supposed to be reliant on speed, the problem is they aren't that fast either.

I think I saw this was the first time we've won consecutive road games this season.cardinalkarp wrote:Agreed, he needed a break anyway and it was pretty clear his confidence was shot. I just feel like every move has been inconsistent, going back to bringing Hitch back for another season and announcing it's his last... then making the team take a half step backward.

Re: 2016-2017 Blues (Hockey) Season
I wonder if this wasn't declared as Hitch's last season w/ the Blues that he wouldn't have already been fired due to the inconsistent play? I have a feeling the Blues are being hesitant and feel their hands are tied in doing something like that because they don't want to fire a future HOF coach in what will be his final season behind the bench.MrCrowesGarden wrote:I think I saw this was the first time we've won consecutive road games this season.cardinalkarp wrote:Agreed, he needed a break anyway and it was pretty clear his confidence was shot. I think you're probably right.
Well, that and they already know who their next coach is, so there's no need to get a jump on the search.

Blues say they want to get Tarasenko's production up...
Put him on a line with Jaskin and Lehtera.

The return of Jake Allen is a short one, pulled after letting in 2 goals on 3 shots.
