Obama should tell the Tea Bagger wing that he'll be glad to cut income taxes--the corporate kind--to 20% provided all the loopholes and other distortions go with it.

Or as a show of goodwill in advance of his next showdown with Republicans, like he did last time.
Democrats still buying that, btw?
Agreed with your sentiment. The goodwill showing was a joke. Obama caving in/not letting the Bush tax cuts expire last december 31 was a huge mistake. I realize he compromised to get some murky version of health care reform passed. But in effect, he made the Bush Tax Cuts his own, and he became their be-yatch.
It is not logical, the GOP sentiment on taxes, the only logic is they promised their wealthy benefactors and their cult followers/Fox News watchers to never raise taxes ...- as if tax cuts are an absolute good, in prosperous financial times or not. Where is the prosperity we were supposed to have from Bush's drastic tax cuts on investment income?
A return of federal taxes to levels that are more progressive, but still historically low is needed. It is currently like the dysfunctional govt has decided to freeze everybody's social standing and mobility -except for downward. But rarely downward for the wealthy -they are safeguarded by our govt and society and not subject to the risk that normal people are (i.e. if their BMW breaks down, it is not as catastrophic financially as when JC's Ria Rio breaks down).

The BMW thing is a sore spot at the Dreamer house. The gfs 335i is in the shop getting it's second transmission in as many years. ugh. But it has warranty.

I have never owned one, but my unsubstantiated impression is that Beamers have a lot of issues. That would drive me nuts to have a car going to the shop every 6 months.

The BMW thing certainly wasn't my idea. We'd have bought a Chevy if I had a say, but it's her car so I didn't. It's been a giant POS.
