$140M for sure doesn't get it done? Maybe he'll get more but that's a preposterous thing to say at this point. Common sense gets you a better answer than Strauss insider info.

His last real, big scoop I remember was Kennedy asking for a trade if he wasn't going to play everyday. But boy did he hype it up.

Plus JSL is nauseating.

some dork: Oh benevolent grand chatmeister, tamer of the tsunami..

Strauss: [tortured attempt at being clever, followed by terrible opinion]

I am trying to think of a way Joe Strauss could be any less relevant.

I am still trying.

Matsui, who didn't play in the field at all this season, is already their DH. But his contract is up, so the Yankees could (and should) let him go. Damon's contract is also up, but he has more value than Matsui.

Yanks need that DH spot open in 2 years when they sign Albert and need to do something with Teix.

Atlanta is a team that could have a long hard look at Holliday.
Looks like Damon will stay a Yankee..

Atlanta generally trades for talent, iirc...I can't remember the last big off season signing they had...

I predict the Angels; he & his wife did a winter vacation in Orange County a couple of years ago, where they now have one of their houses. She loves it there.

Not FA signings but the Braves did trade for Tex & Hudson not so long ago..
The need is there....if the market for Holliday doesnt reach NY numbers, Atlanta could be in the mix too.

I typically don't trust what Ken Rosenthal says... but a lot of the people saying Holliday wants to go to New York I don't trust either.
