31 is a repdigit in base 5 (111), and base 2 (11111).

The Cards fans are baskin' in their team's 8-game lead over the Cubs.
During this unexpected surge to put the division away, it seems that even a Timothy Robbins-type character from Bull Durham could join the Cards, receive a sprinkling of magic pixie dust, and shut out the Padres for 5 innings.
