Re: The Video Game Thread
I'm very torn. I am a pc gamer, but my rig is a bit old. I'd be able to run FO4 and it would look good.
I have a ps4 and a monstrosity of a projector screen. I never play the damn thing (that I bought expecting to use for these big winter releases). Hell, Far Cry 4 looks fantastic, but I am useless at running around d with the damned thumb control (as opposed to my 1000s of hours of fps gaming with a keyboard and mouse). I simply cannot play it. My fingers can't do the right things anywhere but walking around non combat situations.
I am leaning toward the ps4 version, to force myself to just figure it out finally, but I feel like there's a healthy chance I'd give up again and buy the steam version. Then again, FO3 (I finally got it working) is clearly built with a console in mind. Damnitall.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I'm really interested in FO4, but I'm still working through Witcher 3. W3 is a great game, but it's the first time I've ever felt a game is too damn big for it's own good. The whole thing is overwhelming at times. I consider open world games to be a favorite of mine, but Witcher 3 is like drinking out of a fire hose. There a huge parts of the game I made the conscious decision to ignore. That said, it's a great game and recommend it unless you are hardcore OCD.

The game is so sprawling it doesn't even matter.Jocephus wrote:aren't there like, 40 endings in witcher 3?
I love how one of their recent updates added DLC expansions and the ability to play through the game 2x with harder enemies. Who are these shut-ins who have time for something like that?

Re: The Video Game Thread
The reviews I'm seeing today regarding FO4 are mostly positive. seems like mostly 90's/A's/4 out of 5's, etc but certainly some not as well received. all articles are mentioning buggy issues, which on one hand is common for bethesda and such a big game, on the other hand, make sure your games work on release date!
im a fallout homer so i'm sure i will look over any bug or technical issues but hopefully there are some patches out soon. tomorrow might be a very long day of work before i can start playing.

I've never played an FO game but all of my friends are all about it. Makes me want to try it.
