Re: The Video Game Thread
I like the Kinect. My wife and I play some of the sports games - they have rock climbing, tennis, bowling, etc. We also like to play Dance Central when we have people over. That plus beer is always a good time.
The gesture controls of the OS are a little bit of a novelty, but I do like the voice commands.

Not a gamer, I played with Kinect once several years ago, and it seemed pretty cool. What do you see as the problem with it?Michael wrote:Also, I have the XB1 Kinect and it's useless. The next xbox update drops Kinect gestures, which is kind of funny. I don't know why they even sell Kinect anymore.

Re: The Video Game Thread
The XB1 Kinect is a very cool piece of technology and much better than the 360 version. No question. The issue is content. There aren't a lot of games that work well with it and there aren't any interesting new Kinect games/apps coming out that I know of. So if you're in the market for an Xbox One it's kind of a waste of money.Arthur Dent wrote:Not a gamer, I played with Kinect once several years ago, and it seemed pretty cool. Man, Fallout is a time waster's dream/nightmare. The crafting menu alone, never mind the other stuff.

Who am I kidding for not pre-ordering it? Sheesh. Bought it on steam ($48 through Green Man Gaming), so I will be using the PC. Won't look as good as my ps4 would, but I feel a lot more comfortable playing on my keyboard and mouse. Besides, if I really want it on the big screen (as if my 30" monitor is small, but eh), I have a long-ass HDMI cord and a cheapo wireless mouse, keyboard and headset.
Here we go, I think this 24GB is the largest single download I've made. Witcher 2 was huge, though, might have been close.
