i'll sound like a wuss but i haven't used my headset during this playthrough mainly 'cause i know how much extra tension it'll add. they use that "ehhhhhhhhh" noise (like when batman confronts jokers in the interrogation room in the dark knight) and even thru my tv speakers its unnerving.Michael wrote:Dead space has the best sound design I've ever heard in a game. It begs for a good surround sound speaker system or surround headphones. It will make everything way creepier.

There's all kinds of details I didn't pick up until I wore headphones. For example, there's some low level creepy whispering intermittently pumped in throughout the game.

!!!
Red Dead Redemption 2 leaked map appears to be genuine
https://www.vg247.com/2016/04/18/red-de ... e-genuine/But TechRadar claims that an independent source, “close to the development of the new Red Dead game” has confirmed that it is, in fact, the real thing after all.
They went on to confirm that the game will take place before the events of Red Dead Redemption, in a location to the east.

I recently finished Thomas Was Alone. It's a neat little puzzle game. It's not too difficult, but it has tons of charm. I recommend it.

Started a season as the Cardinals in MLB 16: The Show. Currently 5-2. The only roster differences are that I traded Ruben Tejada for Adonis Garcia and signed Mark Buehrle to a one-year contract, releasing Lynn because he doesn't deserve to be relegated to the minors/long-relief duties. I think my team finished 94-68 in last year's game, losing to the Dodgers in the NLCS.

Re: The Video Game Thread
Because I'm such a hard core gamer, I was playing Monopoly on XBox this weekend. And I almost threw my controller through the TV. I was playing the speed version with the third die and near the end I owned every single property except for Park Place and Boardwalk. There were a bunch of houses on those two. In the speed version there is a combination of the three dice that makes you advance to the next property that you don't own. Freaking Park Place. I ended up there four times in a row and was mortgaging properties to pay my rent even though I owned 99% of the board and had houses/hotels everywhere!!! The entire time the computer player was basically just going straight back to jail over and over instead of paying me rents on the rest of the board.
Finally I got smart and traded away the utility before Park Place to the other player for as little as it would let me. I rolled that stupid combination a couple more times but I ended up there instead of Park Place and finally won.
I don't know why it took me that long to figure out the solution. Of course I also never read the rules to even have any idea what the symbols on the extra die meant so I shouldn't be surprised. I didn't even read the rules until I was getting hammered.

Re: The Video Game Thread
one thing i hate about modern games (perhaps consoles only, and specifically xbone for me) is the whole cloud service for game files, and syncing files. i started up fallout4 to get geared for the next DLC (i haven't touched the other ones; will do those now and wait for the next) but i havent played for a few months. anyways, after installing the 1st two released dlc's, there was a 2.2gb mandatory game update...then it took about 2 hours for the game to sync files correctly. the first hour or so, it finally went to the main menu screen and the option to "continue" was grayed out. well i almost lost my [expletive] right there 'cause i have like 6 days i think put in from the vanilla game itself. but i was like, let me try this again. after another 90 mins or so it finally synced everything correctly. just awful.

Re: The Video Game Thread
It drives me crazy that there are games I have downloaded that can't be played without an Internet connection. I have absolutely no idea why they need to be connected either. I don't care about online leader boards and stuff. If there's no connection then just make them show up blank or with an error and let me play dang it!!!
