Re: 2011 WS Game 6 in perpetuum
The Cards fan in me wants to agree but the baseball history geek immediately wants to bring up the 1929 Philadelphia A's and their comeback from down 8-0 in the bottom of the 7th versus the Cubs to go ahead 3 games to 1. What makes that comeback all the more amazing is that they scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 7th alone. I still have an issue of Sports illustrated from the 1990s with that team on the cover. The article went into a ton of detail on that team and it made such an impression on me that I remember it to this day. I believe it is still the greatest (numerically anyway) comeback in baseball postseason history.pop_haines wrote:Greatest comeback in WS history.
Let's see that one on NES RBI Baseball.

(Scroll down to the second story for some details. Even back then the Cubs sucked!

Holy [expletive] I completely forgot that we loaded the bases in the 8th after the Craig HR and got nothing. I thought that was our chance. Just looking through the play by play.

I was reading through the NSBB thread on Game 6, which is quite entertaining. Better yet, because the forum takes ads, this was the ad at the bottom of the page:
"Relive all the greatest moments of the 2011 World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals."

The Game 6 comments at NSBB are a fascinating foray into the tortured psyche of Cubs fans. It's wonderful but sad. If they didn't have the golden child coming in next season... yikes.

Ok I read them and I am again very thankful for GRB. If you want to understand about the "best fans in baseball" etc... just compare game threads. That was [expletive] mind numbing, but I come to expect that from Cubs fans. As a group they are just dumb about baseball.

I don't understand these youtube videos at all. How can you be at the game and think to pull your phone out to take a video? That is crazy to me. Glad they did it but it's absolute insanity.
