As a server in a nice restaurant, it's literally my job to explain things to you and help you make your decision. It bugs me when people order things that they don't understand what it is, and that's one of the only times customers end up really not liking something.

Do you like it when people ask "so what would you get off the whole menu?"

/that is often what my wife asks.

Also, I hate it when an entree doesn't come with a salad or soup. Nothing annoys me quite like paying $30 for a plate and then having to still pay $5 or whatever for a house salad. I think it's common to separate the two, but it still annoys me nevertheless.
