I'd really like to stop calling Yadi "The Black Hole" for good.

Inge throws it away after an outstanding stab on a smash up the line.
Eckstein delivers again.

Just snagging the ball was an outstanding play from where he was.
It's almost a shame the play resulted in an error...it started so beautifully.

Folks, we haven't won anything yet, but I can safely say that A LOT of debts are being repaid by the baseball gods this series.
Denk, the tarp machine, Clark going down, Carp being out, Rolen being out, Ankiel, the hunting knife cut.... the list goes on.
The baseball gods are paying us back for all those years of being giving the short end of the stick.

Isn't that play a perfect example of Inge, though?
He's got range -- no one will doubt that (remember that play he made on Rolen earlier in the year!?)... however, as good as his arm is, he's very erratic.

Cards use small ball to manufacture a run and grab the early lead.
Considering how Verlander has looked...I don't think it's likely that having his team down is going to help him turn it around. Big run.

Scott just can't seem to avoid awkward collisions, can he?
