I miss eating out. I have an immunocompromised daughter and we've been bunkered down for the last month as a precaution for her. I haven't talked to a waiter or waitress in almost 2 months and, as one of our resident fatties, that is rough.

My wife and I took my daughter last summer to eat sitting outside at a Qdoba with zero customers. It was her first time eating in public, because she was born Jan 2020.

Besides that, we have not eaten inside a restaurant since November 2019.

My firm’s receptionist has been on a ventilator for a week now. She’s about my age or younger (let’s say, 40). I learned today she’s unvaccinated. She was afraid to get it. She’s a good person and a valued part of our firm and we’re all trying to find hopeful signs.

She passed away this morning. Everyone I work with is crushed. She was such an optimistic, positive, kind and giving person. Ugh, maybe I'm going home.
