Matt got beaned in the hand; they took him out for precautionary reasons.

Holliday took a fastball on the hand. Out of options more or less.

I knew Holliday was hit, but he didn't have to put the pitcher in his lineup spot, did he?

No choice; Craig had already PH in another spot.

Doesn't matter now because it looks like both Holliday and Pujols will be out of the game with injury. With them out, every spot might as well be the pitcher's spot.

Ok. I saw Lohse hitting after Pujols and my immediate thought was "Jesus Christ, he can't be this stupid again."

La Russa saved Bryan Anderson while letting two pitchers hit in an extra inning game. This is NOT a new occurrence in 2010, so I don't see any point in beating that dead horse. But it seems to me this is something he didn't do much, say, ten years ago, and it's become increasingly common for him. Does anybody else have that impression or the opposite feeling?

ETA: "NOT", as in TLR's done this in 2010 obviously.

Tony is just changing along with the game.

Blue font.

One thing he could have done was PH Anderson in the 10th, and then use Craig in the 4 hole.

But that would require Tony to burn his back up catcher, which apparently is not allowed in his world.

This isn't exactly a unique complaint or accusation (and it borders on a hyperbole), but it almost seems like sometimes he tries to win via unconventional routes to try and look shrewd or crafty. That, or he's senile.
