This is as good of a place as any for this question:

Why has it always been customary for fans to throw a ball, that's made its way up into the stands, back down to the officials? Seems like there's always plenty of extra balls, and that it would be cool for fans to hang onto one.

Because ushers will take it away from you if you don't throw it back.

Well, yeah. I figured that. But has there historically been a problem with fans throwing it around in the stands? Throwing it onto the field? Or fights breaking out over the ball? I ask, because these things generally aren't concerns in baseball, football, hockey...

EDIT: Maybe they're seen as too valuable for fans to keep, as it looks like FIFA game balls can run around $100.

When I was in HS I worked on the field for the St Louis Cardinals (football version). My main job was to raise up the net when teams would kick a field goal at my end. One pregame, a ball went up into the stands so on up into the stands I went to retrieve it, skinny high schooler that I was. The burly dude that caught it looked at me and laughed when I asked him to throw it back. The assistant equipment manager apologized for not telling me that I didn't need to try to get it back, noting that I was lucky not to get my ass kicked.

I really don't think so. I think Cooper's quotes have generated the buzz, but they were in a response to a question that didn't come from any legit discussion from the club that I have seen or heard of.

I'd prefer we just kept him and he stopped sucking and started getting better service (the two aren't entirely hand-in-hand), but our team desperately needs defenders, and he is one of the few guys we have who could generate interest and we might consider moving. We'd have to add some depth at striker somehow if we dealt him.

I thought the offense looked better with the 4-5-1/4-5-3 against Seattle than it has in a while, so he could be a late sub for the indefinite future, with Perlaza getting starts.

US Soccer canned Bob Bradley. No clue who will replace him. Sigi Scmid or Dom Kinnear probably.

What do you think, was it time for Bradley to go? He's managed some very successful teams, but they seem to have peaked.
