Forgive me if I missed this part of the discussion, but I saw a tweet and now forget where that said Arkansas fired Bielema immediately because they realized players would be going home to enjoy a belated Thanksgiving with family and friends, and they didn't want them to see or hear about it on social media.

Okay, you are right about that. Ryan Higgins is wrong. But I honestly don't get the hate levied at Arkansas for firing Bielema after the game. You really going to let him twist in the wind overnight? Through the weekend.

No. Just let him know days ago. Dude has a massive buyout. If he doesn’t show up for the game then fire him with cause. Bielema has struggled as the coach. I think this is obvious. But he has been a standup guy all along. Hasn’t had much of any [expletive] thrown or stuck to him. To have Bielema go on tv and, on a clip that is going to be on ESPN and every news station that covers Arkansas football, say he was let go coming off the field just looks bad. Surely you don’t disagree with that? I mean they owe the guy 15 mil or whatever. Maybe that’s worth like a sit down convo not a quick saying as he’s in a booth between the field and the locker room.

I kind of touched in this in one of the baseball threads. But it’s amazing how freely the information has flown around here about bielema being gone. And while I know the source of some of this info, I do not know the source of the info that bielema was going to be fired. But it was so well known everyone accepted it as fact. People that did not even know the situation on a national level knew what the firing of Long meant. And that has happened. It’s public info. Was in sports center and heavily covered by the media in Arkansas. For a player not to know bielema was done, they’d have had to benimpervious to common sense and current relations.

I can't remember another Mizzou player boosting their stock in six games like Lock has. Two months ago it would've been inconceivable to think of him as a first rounder.

I didn't find it offensive or looking bad to fire him like they did, but I certainly can't help how others feel about it.

I am just having a hard time finding sympathy for him right now.

100% classy his tenure, but also the fans have been pretty fair with him too IMO.

That said, I never cared for him (easy to say now, but I really didn't want him to begin with) so my judgment could be clouded. I am just excited to see what is on the horizon. I am sick of hearing how great Clemson is in my home every weekend. I'm ready for the Hogs to be competitive.

I don’t think he’s a first rounder. Late second maybe.

I don't think he's a first rounder either, but the buzz is growing so we'll see. I can't imagine he rises higher than Darnold, Rosen and Allen.
