JL21 wrote:These are great. Keep 'em coming. I'm especially digging that Louvin Brothers song and Tupelo/Lilli Schull.

Lilli Schull/Lily Shaw is a traditional murder ballad. Jay Farrar of UT wrote a 'reply' song for the second Son Volt album

You should check out UT's March 16-20 1992 album if you're digging this stuff. It's awesome musically and lyrically.

Not sure if this one would count as a murder ballad but it's in the ballpark

I was listening to a Pearl Jam concert on XM from this past fall. Lighting Bolt just went to #1 for the second consecutive week and Eddie Vedder was thanking the crowd and said "and we didn't even have to show our [expletive] to get there".

Anyone watch the CBS special last night about the Beatles? I thought it would have been pretty cool if George Harrison's & John Lennon's sons had joined Paul & Ringo on stage. I saw Sean Lennon sitting w/his mother and wondered if Julian was even in attendance.

I watched it until True Detective started and wish I recorded the rest of it. I thought Ed Sheeran on “In My Life” was the highlight of what I saw (although the "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was awesome too).

Weezer just announced they will be playing two dates at the Ryman as part of a "20th Anniversary of the Blue Album" tour.

Stoked.

Jason Isbell just played a couple shows here in STL. Anyone go?

Think I'm going to pick up a ticket to go see Dropkick Murphys- gobirds, 82 and Madreamer's fave- and Lucero on the 25th.
