I don't know who makes that call, but this backlash is something else. I mean, it's not just the volnation forum, it's former players, state reps, etc. Seems like Currie's only hope is to say it was a false report. No idea how he comes back if the hire doesn't go through and try to re-do the damned thing.

Just read a herbstreit tweet and the responses and wooboy. I [expletive] had to dig up the facts because, well, twitter is the worst.

Anyway, here's the entire thing people are upset about, I think:

The testimony comes from former assistant coach Mike McQueary, who said he witnessed Sandusky engaging in a sexual act with a minor in a Penn State shower in 2001, and raised the matter with former defensive coordinator Tom Bradley.

According to the court documents, Bradley, now the coordinator at UCLA, told McQueary that “another assistant coach had come to him in the early ’90s about a very similar situation” as had another individual “as far back as the early ‘80s about seeing (Sandusky) doing something with a boy.”

McQueary testified that Bradley said the assistant coach from the 1990s was Schiano, a Penn State assistant from 1990-95.


“I can’t remember if it was one night or one morning,” McQueary testified, “but that Greg had come into (Bradley’s) office white as a ghost and said he just saw (Sandusky) doing something to a boy in the shower.”

Bradley's representative Brett Senior said Tuesday in a statement, “At no time did Tom Bradley ever witness any inappropriate behavior. Nor did he have any knowledge of alleged incidents in the 80’s and 90’s. He has consistently testified as such. Any assertions to the contrary are false. When he became aware of the 2001 incident it had already been reported to the University administration years earlier.”

Schiano, now an assistant coach at Ohio State, tweeted a statement Tuesday that read, “I never saw any abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State.”

So, McQueary said that Bradley said that Schiano reported seeing Sandusky with a boy to Bradley. Something both Bradley and Schiano deny.

I don't know what to believe there. It makes sense for them to try to deny any knowledge or wrongdoing. At the same time, they deny it all the same and apparently Bradley did so under oath. Not sure if Schiano did or not.
