Doing 95 on the highway is pretty dumb in and of itself, but texting as well? Look, I don't know you or your girlfriend, but that kinda [expletive] pisses me off because it's not just her life she obviously has no problem putting at risk.
If I'm in the car w/ anyone and they start texting I tell them to knock that [expletive] off.

Re: Stupid drivers
She doesn't really do 95 on the highway (or 50 down Gravois). I was exaggerating to set up the joke about the helmet and life jacket. She's the person who will drive a little fast on the highway following somebody down the fast lane on the highway but she's actually a decent driver. I just like to give her a hard time about anything I can and make jokes on here. I don't always do a good job of making it obvious that they are jokes with nothing but words and no facial expressions or tone of voice to make it obvious.
However I will admit that she has been guilty of texting while driving before. I take the phone from her when I catch her doing it and won't give it back until we get where we're going. If I text her and she says she's on her way somewhere then I don't care what she texts, I won't answer until she's where she is going and she'd better not text me back until she gets there. i can't stop her from doing texting and driving when I'm not around but it doesn't happen when I am and I tell her all the time that she needs to stop that garbage. If she really needs to get a message to somebody while driving, I can type it out for her.
I'm the type of person who doesn't care if he hurts himself but I could never deal with being the cause of injury or worse to anybody else and wish everybody else felt that way. Sadly too many people only care about themselves these days.

Re: Stupid drivers
No problems from my end!
Along my lines of having a problem where I like to exaggerate and say stupid stuff way to often, an hour or two ago she sent me a text saying that the past few months she's really started to reevaluate her priorities and stuff like that. So I replied that my priorities have almost completely flip flopped the past two or three months (started dating her about three months ago). Of course I couldn't just stop there and my next text was said that ever since the Cards didn't make the playoffs I'm now solely focused on finding them a star center fielder and another top of the rotation starter. At least this time I was smart enough to make it pretty obvious that I'm just being stupid.
I don't always do that. Like the time she was going out of town for the weekend and we were in the car before she left. I might have joked that as soon as she was gone I was heading straight to the bar to get plastered and pick up women. We'd only been dating maybe not even a month. She thought I was serious for a minute and gave me a look that said I was about to die followed by 'I don't even know what to say to you right now.' I'm not bright.

That looks like C'bus to me. I've taken that exit to the airport many times.

It is Columbus actually but I was half asleep when I posted it. I drive it every day on the way to work but have never stopped in the middle of the road.Popeye_Card wrote: ↑May 6 25, 1:52 pmThat looks like C'bus to me. I've taken that exit to the airport many times.
