Re: Sonny Gray Traded to Red Sox
The way I look at things is we’re now in a mode where we have to root for rest of the organization to do its best within the owners’ parameters, and hope the owners get the itch to spend when the time is right. So with that in mind, I’m glad we’re getting on with whatever this is.
All you can do otherwise is not go to the games, which the local fans seem to have covered. Though it seems like some owners manage to make that work too.

I hope he comes back as a manager or pitching coach and makes it to Cooperstown.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑November 25 25, 12:44 pmIf Sonny doesn't come back for his age 43 season he won't qualify for a Red Jacket™

I see it pretty similarly. Fitts command was awful last year in the bigs coming off injury, but he's traditionally been a strikes guy with the fastball.CardsofSTL wrote: ↑November 25 25, 1:03 pmChaim Bloom wrote:‘Richard Fitts has already begun his big league career, and with his power stuff and willingness to attack the strike zone, he has the ability to start games at the highest level for many years. Brandon Clarke is an exciting left-handed prospect whose ceiling rivals that of any pitcher in the minor leagues. Both have the potential to be part of our growing core for a long time, and we are happy to welcome them to the Cardinals.”
I, of course, mashed up Fitts and Clarke in my write-up, but bites remain same other than flipping arms (a pretty big deal to be sure).

Both pitchers seem to have high end possibilities if things work out for them. Obviously thats going to be a rare instance and the cards haven't exactly shown the ability to develop talent on their own, but both can be #2 type starters if they put everything together. Fitts fill a hole with this pitching staff now, has a bunch of years of control and can strike guys out - thats something they don't have many of. Really really shocking good return, and I appreciate Bloom going out there and making the move. Also feel bad for Sonny that it didn't work out in STL and hope he pitches will in Boston - he didnt have to accept a trade, but also wasn't so difficult that the Cards got held up for no return.

Re: Sonny Gray Traded to Red Sox
I googled Clarke earlier and the first thing that came up was a tweet from Chris O’Leary (inverted W guy) and come to find out that was one of about 15 different tweets all saying his mechanics are terrible, Bloom is a fool, the cardinals are fools. They looked like Trump tweets, including random ALL CAPS.
I think he’s mostly seen as a hack now, just bringing it up because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person vent their spleen online like that over a baseball trade.
