Washington Nationals designated RHP Miles Mikolas for assignment.
Truly insane that any MLB team saw even just his numbers from the past few years and thought that was better than anyone they have at AAA.

Joins an elite list of former Cardinal starting pitchers who led the league in wins one season, only to lead the league in losses the next. Steve Carlton is another. There might be more, but these just happen to be the two whose B-R pages I pulled up today and noticed this obscure factoid.

OK, I ran through the list - I'm somewhat confident that they are the only two. Darryl Kile just missed doing it, missing the league lead in wins by 1 in 1997 before leading the league in losses in 1998 after going to Colorado.

I could see Lohse or Looper doing it

Kudos to them for waiting after his 10 years of service time to release him though.

Tigers signed OF Michael Siani to a minor league contract.
Siani opted out of his minor league deal with the Orioles earlier in the week. The 27-year-old outfielder has hit just .167/.281/.242 with one homer and 17 RBI in 219 plate appearances at the Triple-A level this season. He’ll add outfield depth at Triple-A Toledo where the Tigers have been stretched thin recently.
