Here's the question I want to ask her:
"How would you describe the Bush Doctrine, in regards to Alaska's proximity to Russia?".
I'm pretty sure her head would explode.

I'm interested to see if she's given a slight My Fair Lady style makeover over the next four years. One other thing I haven't read much about - I wonder how broad her support in the South is. Growing up in NC for some time, I know that voice is nails on a chalkboard to some of those people.
I agree that she could have provided a better answer concerning foreign policy, and even had a wonderful opportunity to qualify her previous statements. And she really could have taken the question about McCain and deregulation and stated some basic principles behind deregulation.
The makeover point is a good one. She is a rising GOP star, and I think she was tapped much too early for a national run. Oddly enough, if McCain wins, I think her political ceiling is quite limited (except, of course, if McCain dies in office). If McCain loses, she's going to remain quite popular in Alaska, and can easily win re-election as governor, or run for Congress later on.

Palin reminds me of myself decades ago trying to get my first accounting job out of college when my only work experience was McDonald's, work-study, and lawn mowing.
Its such a leap.
Maybe some of you guys can relate/ remember that experience. - it would be ridiculous to pretend that the old work experience at Mcdonalds was relevant to the new position. But you could sell the old work experience as an indicator of a willingness to work, and learn.
Palin and GOP are caught on this one. if anything Palin should tout that she's shown good judgement in her roles in govt, and this would translate to being able to handle larger national issues. It makes more sense than lieing about her resume with Russia etc. that is, unless they are trying to get every last "pity the deer in the headlights" vote.

hey guys, I've been to a few games at Busch. I was, like, right next to the field. I'm pretty sure that's all I need to get a MLB contract, right?

I'd be more inclined to support you if you sat in right-center, and had close proximity to TWO baseball players.
Thank goodness Alaskans have had Sarah Palin to protect them from violent attacks from those pesky Canadians.

What stunned me about the Alaska thing was how indignant she acted when discussing how people mocked it. She spent the first three weeks of the campaign making a mockery of someone who tried to help people turn their life around.
Jesus, there aren't enough levees in the world to save us from what could happen if Sarah Palin, John McCain and Hank Steinbrenner all started bawling.

I would agree that Palin should have more experience. But I don't understand on how those people ripping on her could be so comfortable with Obama's experience. Actually, Palin has more executive experience than all the other three combined.
It seems that Obama has been running for president most of his time in the Senate.

How could she forget that "My running mate is too humble to talk about what a real hero he is" is the answer to any and all questions asked of her?
BTW, I'm one of those people who gets too embarrassed for others so I couldn't watch the entire Palin/Couric interview.
