Explain something to me. How in the world is moving from field turf to a hard dirt infield going to help Glaus' foot situation?

Reporters keep bringing this up, but I don't get it. I've played on field turf. It's nice stuff. Soft. Not really all that hard on the feet. I've played on dirt infields (though not MLB quality ones). They're not as forgiving as field turf, imo.

It's not like he's moving to the OF or anything. In fact, he'll pretty much never touch the grass at StL, except for the occassional pop up, and jogging to and from the dugout.

Does it seem like the Cards have alot of communication issues? How many free agents have the Cards loss because of the players not hearing of an offer (Polanco, Benes) Others have complained about communication (Eckstein, Woody Williams)

If there was a big rift between Rolen and TLR, why didn't either GM hold a meeting to hash it out. Funny on how 3 of the Cards greatest fielders (Rolen, Ozzie, Edmonds) have a problem with TLR.

Seems even more odd in this age of mass communication.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's the impact of your steps that makes a big difference..

The hard surface at Busch doesn't cushion the impact like the turf does...and the cushiony impact is harder on your knees and feet..

That's my guess but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that

And what it means is the same as if I wrote this about Glaus coming over:

I really wish TLR would have left with Walt.

Where are these "Edmonds had a problem with TLR" comments coming from? I don't remember Jimmy ever being pissed at the manager. My understanding was to the contrary.

Oh, and Polanco's communication problem was entirely his agent's fault. He fired the guy over it, in fact.

Wouldn't the hard surface put more stress on your feet, knees, etc.?

i.e. landing on a pillow is a lot softer on your body than landing on dirt.

I believe Glaus has had his own shoulder issues, and his feet with tendon issues. I guess I am just pissed because Rolen was my fave.
