If I didn't have to work I'd be at the box office in line. Still trying over the computer but may have to fall back on Stubhub or a friend. It's funny, everyone at work is doing the same thing.stlouie_lipp wrote:Just got 2!pioneer98 wrote:Indeed. Tickets on sale right now. Not cheap!!!

How did Moline land them anyway? No Chicago dates. What kind of arena is it? If you get tix we'll have to get a pre-concert beer.pioneer98 wrote:If I didn't have to work I'd be at the box office in line. I have no idea why they are playing Moline and not Chicago. Moline pretty much gets all the big country stars, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, etc. Once in a while they will get a big name outside of country like this. Back when there were more and bigger rock acts they'd get more of them. I've seen Sting, Green Day, Dave Mathews Band, and others there.stlouie_lipp wrote:How did Moline land them anyway? This is the same building I have my minor league hockey season tickets, so I'm kinda familiar with it. It was built for concerts, so it has a pretty good setup. It's 20 years old but has been kept up very well. It is similar in size to Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis but has a horseshoe configuration. The arena that it is most similar to would be Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. It seats just under 11,000 for concerts but its cozy and has good sight lines pretty much throughout. The only bad spot is high upper bowl to the extreme top of the horeshoe (extreme sides of the stage). Anywhere else is good.

Way back a few months after the building opened in 1993, the concert that really put it on the map was Phil Collins. He had some kind of conflict with Chicago and couldn't make that work, so he went to Moline instead. Maybe something similar happened with Pearl Jam.
This video gives you a feel for the kind of acts they've gotten over the years and has a couple wide crowd shots:

Not sure if it is true or not but rumor is that Pearl Jam booked the Quad Cities concert simply because they'd never played here before.

Not yet. I'm waiting to see if prices come down at all on Stubhub. They actually have slightly, but still are way over face. We'll see...stlouie_lipp wrote:That is the kind of thing they would do.
