Living just north of NYC, I am expecting to become infected at some point. It's just all around us. My son's best friend's dad has it (in our town). I walked my dog on Saturday, and had a very brief 15 second conversation (from around 50 feet away) with someone who was infected, and was on day 12 of the quarantine (I didn't know he was infected at the time of the conversation).

Just feels like it's not a question as to if I will be infected, but more like when.

Two nights in a row of Zoom meeting gatherings with family. I was dreading in some regard, but they ended up being positive. We live pretty far apart, and last night's was 12 people (mostly siblings family) with some additional heads popping in.

3 nurses including my niece who is on the frontline - covid floor in hospital in Seattle. My sister who is in nurse administration. My Mom, still is making food for some pantries in the hometowm. I shared update - my granddaughter baby that is likely in the NICU a couple more weeks (was premature but is on her way now) how my visits were cutoff 2 weeks ago, and now it is my daughter only able to go in. Tales of homeschooling, and nieces and nephews who's HS or college plans came to a halt. Siblings work situations - how they are handling it. My brother, who can't see his toddler grandchildren - they adore each other.

A brother in law who was let go 2 weeks ago from work (actually was a relief to him, but replacing the job will be tough for a long while)

My niece in Seattle silenced the group with her situation in Seattle -people dying on her shift - an reminding us all to take this seriously.

There's some ways to have juvenile fun - you can chat in texts to the group during the meeting - some commentaries were great. I had a funny photo of my brother from younger years that I flashed in front of the camera when the conversation was light. Lot's of laughs and a few tears and drank a few beers. Glad I participated.

I kind of feel this way too (about the inevitability). Not in a hotspot, but STL could be on its way to being one. Even a month ago, seeing predictions about how they think 40-70% of the world will ultimately get it, I figured it was just a matter of time. My hope now is that I can hold it off long enough that they have fixed the ventilator shortage and beds are opening up again.

I have mild asthma and am on Humira for psoriasis, so my immune system is suppressed. My daughter also has asthma. I worry about her more than anything.

Our local Costco is reporting three employees have tested positive. We - and the rest of the Valley - have been there many times over the last several weeks.

How are you guys handling this mentally? I was doing pretty good, but now every county around us has cases and I'm getting worried. Not about me but about my parents. They are pretty good at social distancing but I know my Dad has been to the store once a week for the last two weeks. I freaked on him telling him I would go for him. He of course didn't want to bother me.

Then twice in the last few days I've gotten texts from people I know who lost their jobs. They want to know if I've got any work for them on the farm. Here's the thing, I didn't take any salary last year at the farm and I can't see it happening this year either with prices the way they are. That's fine, I still have income, but I think if we were making money at the farm I'd just say ok I won't take any salary and let's get these guys through a rough patch, but everything is just so uncertain I don't know. We have a skype session with our accountant tomorrow about tax stuff and I think I'm going to have to see if we can make it work were we could at least hire one of these guys to get us through planting. Hopefully by the time that's over the world is back to a little more normal.

Anyway, this is all starting to wear on me now. I'm struggling sleeping and in general anxious.
