Would you stop it already? I'm as fatigued by the negativity as anyone, but there have been legit gripes with Tony for years and particularly last night. If you want to make an argument in his favor, then take the time and do it. This passive-aggressive curt dismissal thing is tiresome no matter who does it.

I have made several arguments. If you don't want to take the time to read them, that's on you.

No, I've seen you agree that he screwed up. Which begs the question why you're baiting "Tony haters" with stuff like the post above.

The Tony haters are blaming the loss on him. I am not. I am not bating anyone.

You're in a thread called "TLR Head Scratcher thread" using the simplistic phrase "Tony haters" to describe people with legitimate gripes about a world series game. You can't possibly be serious about this.

So, I am not allowed to disagree? I sometimes think some posters here get more enjoyment from a Cards loss when they can complain about TLR than they get from a win. I am calling people out on this. If you don't like it, tough. Get over it.

I hate Tony (as a manger) as much as anybody. I'd much rather have the Cards win than being validated after a Cards loss due to bad managing.

But I can't speak for all the other Tony haters.

It makes me sad that Mo doesn't have Ted Thompson's nuts to just say "no" to a legend (re: mutual option for TLR)

It goes without saying that players not executing is the reason the Cardinals lost. But that is true in most any situation outside of a coach forfeiting a game outright.
In an extreme example - if Larussa started Skip Schumaker on the mound and had Aaron Miles batting cleanup and gave up a half dozen outs with sacrificed bunts,
then that too could be another loss chalked up to lack of player execution.


It also goes without saying that the Cards have two games left to win the WS and Larussa had a role in getting the Cards there. But that doesn't change the colossal Larussa [expletive] ups last night.

I'm more annoyed by the constant bunting than the stupid phone mix up. We're extremely lucky the Rangers won by only two runs. Trying to bunt your way to victory in that game is just dumb though. If the DPs happen, they happen, but let the hitters hit for christ's sake, and don't run into outs.

Amen. I wish the Rangers would sac bunt some more and send their slow players on hit and runs with Beltre/Napoli at the plate. If a team were willing to give me a 5 out handicap, I would take it.
