SO... what's everyone going to do with their summer in 2027?

I need to start ripping through all the movies and shows on my "watch someday" list.

Wonder how much that affects call-ups late in the season this year, since players on the 40 man can’t play during a stoppage.

But if they all did it without the written agreement, couldn't that be seen as collusion?

I agree. It would have to be an iron-clad agreement, or else teams would be tempted to break it to their own advantage. This is the reason cartels often fall apart and require complete transparency of records: otherwise, one firm will be tempted to cheat to undercut the others, whether in selling oil or light bulbs below the collusion price, or signing free agents to longer contracts.

As heyzeus is mentioning, the proposed contract rule is like Ulysses asking his crew to tie him to the mast so he can hear the Sirens' song but not be lured to his death.

Holy [expletive]! Was watching the Brewers Reds game on MLB.TV and one of the commercials was a legit political type hit piece against the MLBPA. I gotta see if it’s on YouTube yet. Seriously disgusting.

In the past billionaires cared about their public image enough that it would blunt their absolute worst tendencies to some small degree. Not anymore. They are free to publicly be openly greedy, viscious a-holes now. They realized there were no consequences any more.
