I love mandolin, but I don't have one yet, and haven't really done the research on what's good among entry-level models. In general, I'd say that you can get a better mandolin for less if you go for an A-style rather than F-style. Quality control is probably the biggest concern on any cheap instrument, so I'd be hesitant to buy online. I'd check both Craigslist and local music stores, and play around with everything in your price range. If you can't set it up yourself (I think I remember that you play guitar, so you may be able to adjust the action, etc.), it'd probably worth getting a set-up done professionally.Tambourine Man wrote:redbirdjazzzMrSaigon wrote:Who's our bluegrass guy here? Yes, indeed. Did that a few months ago when I realized I would never again subject myself to the awfulness that is Rush.Tambourine Man wrote:Ever tear through your music collection and just stat deleting [expletive] you haven't listened to in a long time? I do it a couple times a year. Clicking the empty trash button feels great. Enjoy mp3 heaven, Eddie Vedder.
