i agree. just saw/watched the clip on tv, and yeah, it was kinda odd...i think he was trying to make a point, but didn't execute it well...not like accusing some parts of america of being "anti-america"ghostrunner wrote:Biden said more than he had to, basically. Nothing horrible.

I'm truly worried about that. If it's serious enough for him to take off, it's serious to the point where if he doesn't do it now, he can't later. Best regards there.docellis wrote:Looks like Obama's grandma is seriously ill and he has canceling some campaign events.

Joe ALWAYS runs a little long. I don't think he necessarily said anything outrageous or damning. He just could have stopped a little early.Jocephus wrote:i agree. just saw/watched the clip on tv, and yeah, it was kinda odd...i think he was trying to make a point, but didn't execute it well...not like accusing some parts of america of being "anti-america"ghostrunner wrote:Biden said more than he had to, basically. Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin
i understand why obama/biden dont bring it up (because it would just be doing what mccain/palin are doing) but i wish this alaskan independence party leader (joe vogler) guys comments were more known nationally...
todd palin has been a AIP member for awhile, and she supports themThe group's aims are voiced no more forcefully than by its founder, Joe Vogler, as CNN observes in direct quotations: "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government...," Vogler states in one quotation, "...And I won't be buried under their damn flag." In another quotation, Vogler says: "My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand." As though to leave no doubt in our minds regarding his willingness to use violence to achieve his secessionist aims, Vogler says in one final quote: "I hope we don't have to take human life, but if they go on trampling our property rights, look out, we're ready to die."
I’m Governor Sarah Palin and I am delighted to welcome you to the 2008 Alaskan Independence Party Convention in the golden heart city of Fairbanks. Your party plays an important role in our state’s politics. I’ve always said that competition is so good, and that applies to political parties as well. I share your party’s vision of upholding the constitution of our great state. My administration remains focused on reining in government growth so individual liberty and opportunity can expand. I know you agree with that. We have a great promise to be a self-sufficient state, made up of the hardest-working, most grateful Americans in our nation. So as your convention gets underway I hope that you all are inspired by remembering that all those years ago, it was in this same city that Alaska’s constitution was born. And it was founded on hope and trust and liberty and opportunity. I carry that message of opportunity forward in my administration, as we continue to move our state ahead and create positive change. So I say good luck on a successful and inspiring convention. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.

Calm down. I was just showing how ridiculous it is for people to make claims like this. People are calling me a racist, so don't say that I'm taking civil discussion and throwing out outrageous statements. It's already being done.PujolJunkie wrote:Are you [expletive] serious? Really? If I would have said that in any other thread but this one, no one would care. If I would have said "I can't stand Britney Spears, but gosh golly if she wasn't adorable on SNL," nobody would have said a single thing. If it was Megan Fox, if it was any other hot celebrity, nobody would care. But because it's Sarah Palin, the faux outrage has to rear it's head. Give me a break. This has been a pretty civil discussion for the past couple of weeks. Mostly. Don't start trying to turn what people say into outrageous statements. I've respected you, I've done exactly what was asked of me when I didn't argue with you or bait you. But tell me that I made a horrible statement when if it was anybody other than the Golden Girl, you wouldn't have even batted an eye.BW23 wrote:What a sexist statement. Is it okay for Biden and Obama to make fun of him then, or should they shut up as well?Jocephus wrote:and...OMFG...im so sick of hearing about "joe the plumber"...mccain/palin are raping and using this guys name...ive watched two rallys today by the repubs and both of them have said his name at least 10 times

I was laughing at what Palin said yesterday.
"Joe the Plumber said he thinks it sounds like socialism!"
As if her and McCain's opinions were moot.

Re: Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin
I heard a couple of clips yesterday where they were making fun of him. I'd have to search to find them, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere.
