The two parties seems to set up an all or nothing, us against them. I hate it.

Meanwhile, an Arizona poll for the Democratic strategy firm Project New West shows John McCain ahead by just 4 points there, and a couple of other polls showing a close race in McCain's home state are apparently on the way. In terms of our model, the principal effect of the Arizona polls is really not on the Grand Canyon State itself, where our model remains skeptical of an Obama upset, but rather in terms of its neighbor New Mexico, where our it is now (even) more optimistic about Obama's chances.

It sounds good to have all these political groups, but groups that appear poised to rise would be single issue groups - "The No Tax Party" "The Pro-life Party." the "Latino Party". In some ways this is more polarizing and segregating than the system we have already.

A few years ago didn't France have this situation with multiple parties, and the vote was spread between them, and some Nazi dude made it to the final runoff?

we've effectivley had one political party with any power to speak of-the GOP. Before the dream of a third party - I'd be happy to get a 2nd party to undo some of the damage of the Bush years.
