I don't see how you can even convince yourself that this doesn't negatively effect Albert's chances of coming back. Hell, even if Albert hated Tony this shatters the sense of continuity.

I don't think Albert is leaving $10 million on the table just so he can play for Tony.

I think if Tony came back it would help bring Albert back. I do not think him leaving will effect things one way or another. It probably depends on who we bring in to what Pujols decides about his future in St Louis.
