Maybe there should just be a sticky "relationship/lack of self confidence/need reassurance" thread?

I waited for the one woman I could fool into believing I was good looking. To this day, I thank the heavens for that brain lesion or whatever problem my wife has.

It certainly helps that she has 20/200 vision and a reduced olfactory capacity.

Cronos,
It seems to me that some fine things have been laid upon your table.
But you only want the ones you can't get.

Less than you'd think in the dating realm, even given my lousy reputation, which is why it sucks when such rare opportunities go awry.

Not at all. I've been more than happy to be with the ones I have, but they've always ended up rejecting me.

I hope I meet a similarly afflicted woman soon, Sigh. I'm left wondering why anyone would choose me over much better and more plentiful alternatives.

Sounds like someone else wants this thread to end other than me. Mods, please take note.

Just remember Cronos, everybody has their problems. People put up a facade to make you think they're perfect and completely happy, but nobody is that way. Don't discredit yourself just because you feel surrounded by nice shiny facades. In my experience, it's not worth it to be with somebody just because I find them attractive. People need more than that out of a relationship, same way women don't need a guy who is good at flirting with random women. Once you get past the introduction phase, you have to rely on having compatibility with your personalities.
My advice. Stop worrying about what you need to do to make somebody else happy. Focus on yourself for a while. Do charity work, or join a fit boxing class or something that can help your health (not just body, but mind and spirit). If you're just eager to meet somebody and you're comfortable with yourself, maybe check out an online dating service? I know you're a young professional, so I'm guessing you're pretty busy and since you primarily work with clients, obviously you can't really meet people through work. There's plenty of women out there eager to meet somebody with a good head on their shoulders that are using online services.

I suggest pec implants, penile enhancement, and an Ivy League degree.

Talk about anal leakage. It's a good icebreaker.
