While there is some option value in holding on to Rasmus to see if he overcomes his on the field inconsistency, his highly variable mental state suggested rapid liquidation of the asset due to an imminent decline in its value.

REI represents a very predictable risk-reward scenario with its high quality products, good prices that lower opportunity costs, and less variable outcomes in terms of service (returns, adjustments, delivery, etc.). Thus an REI purchase presents a more acceptable return relative to risk.

To the extent that Jenny Crocker is involved, viewing any commercial of her eating a peanut better sandwich might incur a significant outlay of mental capital with very low returns.
