I like it so far. Already found some shows to target. It's just no fun going to The Oregonian and getting a giant stack of everything. Nor is it any fun going to every venue and band's website. I'm not the kind of guy (read: has a wife and kid) who just checks Thursday who's playing Friday and calls it a plan, or can throw a dart at the A&E section to discover new bands live.

But I definitely need more live music in my life. Feel free to meet me at the Dengue Fever show Feb. 11th at the Doug Fir on Burnside. I last saw them in Saigon, so this will be a fun intersection for me.

Shakey Graves. This is a stunning song. And this guy had roles in Friday Night Lights and Spy Kids too.

Jack White was a mind-blowing experience.

Country music living legend Loretta Lynn opened up for him and while im not much of a fan, i can say that she's still got it at the ripe old age of 120 years old.

She even came one and did a couple duets with Jack, which was awesome.

THEN, jack brought out the raconteurs and it was simply amazing.

It was easily the top 3 best shows ive ever seen, possibly overtaking arcade fire at #1.

Regardless of whether or not youre a fan of jack white/white stripes, i highly recommending catching him live. I just sat there in awe the whole time as he ripped up guitar after guitar. He used 4 different guitars during "Ball and Biscuit".
