The Mariners have finally put together a run. They low-key sold at the deadline. Hoping they can break off a wildcard, but the division is brutal.

I may have stated this before, but why do baseball pundits (and some fans) always refer to acquiring relievers in a trade as bringing in a fresh arm(s)? It's not like they've been sitting out all season, waiting for the "trade phone" to ring. They might have thrown just as many innings as someone who is getting sent down for poor performance. It's just that they haven't thrown those innings for the new team. And yes, they might have been throwing for a not-so-good team and now find themselves on a better team, but it's not like the innings for the not-so-good team were stress-free.

I've always found that phrasing... bizarre.
