Sen. Barack Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died after a battle with cancer, his campaign office says.

That's horrible. I read when he took the time off that they had hoped she would live to see the election.

CNN has a "Breaking News" banner on their home page about it.

I wish I could say it more eloquently, but that really sucks for Mr. Obama.

I can't imagine losing someone like that the day before the biggest day in my life.

What?

I thought everyone knew that he was only there to mess with his birth records.

That is really sad though. Sucks she couldn't make it one more day.

What a shame.

As I was voting down at the Board of Election Commissioner's Office downtown today I noted the people being pushed in in wheelchairs to vote and those who were trying to assure that hospitalized family and friends would get their vote counted and couldn't help but think how easy it would be to make a crass joke about comatose voters but instead took the high road, realizing how important it was to some of these people to be able to finally vote for an African American for President of the United States.

Whether or not it's a valid reason to hang the chad for someone, it's undeniable what it might mean to an American who was denied the right to schooling or denied access to jobs or a place to eat to finally have the opportunity, not obligation, to vote for an African American.

Let's say that Obama was slightly better in running his campaign. We ignore everything else? Completely?

I guess this all reminds me of this bumper sticker.

No, we look at everything. Shine that light.
That's why I voted for the guy with the funny name.

I get home.
The image is the Obama accomplishment counter. It's at 0,000. :)
...And yet he has accomplished more than George W. Bush ever will. :)
+++ yeah, I'll take zero accomplishments over deadly mistakes made.

I'd say it's insulting to claim that Sen. Obama has no accomplishments in his life. But then, the obvious rarely needs to be spoken.
